Section-by-Section Strategies
Hören (Listening)
- Read the questions before the audio plays
- Focus on key words — you don't need to understand every word
- Practise with DW Deutsch and Slow German podcasts at A1/A2 speed
Lesen (Reading)
- Scan the text for the main idea first, then read questions
- Look for signal words: nicht (not), nur (only), immer (always)
- Don't spend more than 4–5 minutes on one text
Schreiben (Writing)
- Learn the standard letter/email greeting and closing formulas
- Keep sentences short and clear — examiner rewards completeness, not complexity
- Always answer all bullet points asked in the question
Sprechen (Speaking)
- Prepare a 60-second self-introduction (name, origin, job, hobbies)
- Use connectors: und, aber, weil, deshalb
- If you don't understand: "Können Sie das bitte wiederholen?" = "Can you repeat that please?"
